As the name implies, Wind and Watertight Containers guarantee that your goods are safe from wind and water. All cargo worthy containers are wind and watertight, however, not all wind and watertight containers are cargo-worthy. WWT boxes can come in various shapes, sizes, and conditions. Minor repairs and cosmetic damage are accepted on WWT containers, though there are like-new units available. Some units may come with floor damage and rust, though, again, this is completely dependent on the unit itself. These containers are best suited to the storage of high-value goods but not fresh produce – for that, you are best served by a reefer container.

What can I use WWT Containers for? 
As we have mentioned, wind and watertight containers are not without small amounts of wear and damage. This means that not all of them will have passed a CSC inspection. Without a CSC plate, a WWT container is not deemed suitable for maritime travel. That said, we can source wind and watertight containers that have passed CSC inspection and come with an all-important CSC plate, so be sure to let us know what your intended use for your container is! Road and train freight does not follow such stringent guidelines in terms of the quality of the containers they move (given that they are not stacking them and that they will not be subject to the same conditions as containers on ships). This means that you can purchase or lease a WWT container with minor cosmetic or structural damage (without a CSC plate) and use it for these applications.
